Audubon Society of Central Maryland

The Audubon Society of Central Maryland advances National Audubon's mission to protect birds and the places they need, today and tomorrow, through conservation projects at their wildlife sanctuaries and through education, community science, and advocacy initiatives throughout their chapter territory. Their programs and activities are designed to engage all members of our community and enable them to lend a hand to preserve it for future generations. This includes everything from enjoying the public trails within our two sanctuaries, participating in nature walks, volunteering at sanctuaries, or advocating for local and state environmental issues. They welcome and seek volunteers, partnerships, service projects, and donors. The Audubon Society of Central Maryland is the steward of two wildlife sanctuaries located in Frederick County. These sanctuaries are oases of biodiversity in a fast-developing county. Comprised of more than 270 acres, they carefully manage both properties to support healthy ecosystems. All people are welcome to be guests of the wildlife and enjoy the beauty and serenity of the sanctuaries.
